Cosmetic Surgery - Things You Need to Know About Chin Implants, Ear Reshaping, Nasal Reshaping

There are several people who are dissatisfied by the look of their nose, the contours of their face, or the even the size of their ears. All of them seek answers and solutions and this is where cosmetic surgery comes in. Cosmetic surgeries offer a number of procedures for every problem that an individual may have on his or her body.

One of the most popular procedures in cosmetic surgery that is fairly easy considering the healing time and the overall procedure is the rhinoplasty and nasal reshaping. However, there are also implants available for those who are displeased with how their cheeks look and want a perfectly contoured face. No matter what the reason may be, cosmetic surgery is here to provide them with some solutions.

(I) Chin and Cheek Implants

Surgeons use chin and cheek implants, or more commonly known as facial implants, to enhance the contours of the face. These implants can improve your appearance and boost your self esteem. More so, if you are looking for improvements in your appearance instead of perfection, chin and cheek implants are excellent choices.

Often, surgeons use facial implants to provide a better balance to the features of a younger patient. However, mature patients typically choose facial implants in conjunction with another cosmetic procedure.

If you plan on taking the operation, do expect that it will be performed in an office-based facility, an outpatient facility or a freestanding surgical facility. There are also other times when your doctor may require you to stay overnight. In addition, you doctor might also create recommendations based on you overall condition and whether another procedure could be performed simultaneously with the chin and cheek implants.

(II) Ear Reshaping

Ear reshaping or otoplasty is a procedure done to enhance the shape of your ears. Several people feel a psychological impact of misshapen or protruding ears. This can cause embarrassment and people tend to cover their ears with their hair.

Otoplasty is one of the older cosmetic surgery procedures, which dates back during the late 19th century. The procedure is straightforward and can provide you with the confidence you need.

The procedure is normally performed for the purpose of setting prominent ears back closer to the head though it can also be sued to reduce the size of seemingly large ears. Also, it involves the removal of the skin and reshaping of the cartilage located just behind the ears. The ears will then be stitched into the new position. You would be happy to know that the incision marks used for the procedure will be cleverly concealed in the natural crease also located behind the ear.

After undergoing the 2 to 3-hour procedure, you would be required to wear bandages around your ears for about one week. The stitches will be removed also after a week and you would be able to see the results immediately.

(III) Nasal Reshaping

Rhinoplasty, nasal reshaping or nose surgery is performed in order to provide improvement to the proportion and appearance of your nose. Additionally, the procedure can enhance self confidence and provide harmony to the features of the face. However, nose surgery is also used to correct nose abnormalities that may sometimes cause breathing impairments.

The procedure is highly individualized and it is important to do it yourself instead of doing it to fulfill someone else\'s desires. Also, the procedure is an excellent choice if your facial growth is complete and you are at least 13 years or older, you have a specific but at the same time, realistic goals for the improvement of your appearance, and if you have stopped smoking.
